Friends Book Corner
|
The Book Corner, our used book store, is our primary source of
income. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and is stocked with both donations
and discarded library materials. In addition to used books and magazines, the
Book Corner also carries a selection of computer software, music CDs, DVDs and
vinyl records.

Donation Guidelines
- The Book Corner accepts hardback and paperback books, magazines,
software, and audio-visual materials. We always especially need young children's
books.
- The Book Corner does not normally pick up donations. Exceptions
can be made, depending on the circumstances, and whether a volunteer willing
to make the pickup is available.
- The Book Corner does not have recycling capability, so please
do not donate items that we will have to throw away. Examples of such items
are old (more than two months) news magazines, outdated law books, newspapers
(unless of historical value), old (more than six months) computer magazines,
and water-damaged or mildewed books.
- Donation receipts are available to all donors. The Book Corner
volunteers will not count your items, so if you are concerned with the accuracy
of your receipt, count your items before you bring them in.

Attention Teachers!
Many teachers are regular customers of the Book Corner, because
the Book Corner:
is a rich source for reference materials.
is an economical place to buy reading material
for the classroom.
is a place for teachers to buy very cheap (usually
free) copies of National Geographic. We also have a National Geographic
index.
usually has a fair inventory of literary classics.
often has displays of special interest to teachers. |
